Ausangate is the ultimate trekking destination in the Cusco area. This beautiful snow-capped peak is one of the main features of the Cusco skyline but very few people actually ever see it up close. The area around Ausangate is full of natural beauty and the majestic snow-capped peak ever present, trekking here is truly amazing.

DAY 01: CUSCO – PACCHANTA – AUSANGATE.

This amazing adventure will start after your breakfast, we leave Cusco early in the morning for our three hour and a half of trip in a private transport to the small village of Pacchanta (3,800 meters / 12,464 feet) on the way we will stop and visit the Sistine Chapel of Cusco. We will pass through beautiful landscapes and several traditional villages as Urcos, Cattca and Ocangate. The first 3 hours of road are wonderful prelude to the magnificent scenery of the Cordillera Vilcanota, with great views of Ausangate. We stay in the hot springs in Pacchanta (4400 meters / 14,432 feet), which offers fantastic views of Ausangate at the end of the valley.

DAY 02: PACCHANTA – OTORONGO – AUSANGATE.

We will have a powerful breakfast, before beginning our journey towards the sacred lagoons of the APU AUSANGATE. We will connect to the paths of the ancestors always in the company of the MAMA COCA we arrive at the APACHETA (step between two mountains or valleys) here we will offer our offerings to the different APUS and the MAMACOCHAS to receive us in their house, and we will share the sacred leaves, soon We will descend to the sacred lagoons of OTORONGO COCHA, to purify our bodies and spirits, and thus our bodies will become crystals like the snows of the APU AUSANGATE. Finally, we return to the community of PACCHANTA where our lunch awaits, then we can appreciate some textile works.

DAY 03 AUSANGATE – BACK TO CUSCO.

Relaxed morning optional visit to the hot springs with an amazing view of the mountain and after we will start packing up for returning to Cusco free afternoon and in the night we will have our farewell dinner.
