Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO – TAMBOMACHAY – PUKAMARCA.

  • Our team will come to pick up you  around 6:00 and 6:30  in the morning and then we drive you towards to Tambomachay town, just outside of Cusco, there where we are going to meet with our whole team like our Chef and horseman and the our helpers.
  • Our path will leads us through high passes through valleys, small communities and past beautiful mountain lakes.
  • With large areas of grasslands and large open lakes, this area is home to a wide variety of birds including Andean Geese, partridges and lapwings as well as a variety of birds of prey.
  • Also we will see  wild crops, such as tarwi, and native potatoes and  a lot of andean Grass or straw where our Incas they used to roof of the house with that material. and a large quantity of cactus all of which are regularly spotted throughout the day.
  • We will be hiking along a path that leads to the Q´eulla Ccocha lagoons, where we will have our delicious lunch prepared by Chinchero Boutique & Tours.
  • After that We continue on to the Pukamarca pass at 4200m, where we enjoy stunning views of the surrounding area and immense mountains: Veronica, Pitusiray, Chicon and the San Juan snow peaks.
  • Continuing along the path, we will descend towards the beautiful, remote Andean village Pukamarca at 4010m, where we will have an opportunity to meet with real  local family where they life is agriculture and grazing llamas and alpacas for taday our accommodation will be here in Pukamarca comunity.
  • Lodging: Campsite.

DAY 2: PUKAMARCA – HUCHUY Q’OSQO – LAMAY – AGUAS CALIENTES.

  • Wake up time with hot tea to your tents from our team, after our breakfast we start walking by the ancient path which will lead us to the Puma Punku Ravine.
  • We will be led into a narrow corridor, between some immense rock walls, where we will discover Incan bridges and sets of stairs (some of the best examples of Incan stairs anywhere in the world).
  • This canyon is absolutely magical and includes geological formations surrounded by majestic rocks and boulders that direct the river to Huchuy Q’osqo at 3600m.
  • Once we will arrive to the archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo, we are going to have whole view of sacred valley of the incas from above and then we will explore and received a guided tour, free time to contemplate yourself and our  mountain surrounding.
  • Then start our trek downhill that lasts approximately 2 hours aprox. to Lamay town at 3000m / 9840ft. lunch time in Lamay and is a town dedicated to agriculture.
  • Later in the afternoon, our private transport drives us to Ollantaytambo, where we will board an afternoon train to Aguas Calientes.
  • Upon our arrival to Aguas Calientes all passengers will be shown to their respective hotels. Then we’ll have a family dinner and your guides will deliver the plan for the next morning. A much deserved rest so we’re recharged and ready for Machu Picchu the next day.

DAY 3: PRIVATE TOUR OF MACHUPICCHU.

  • After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we will be ready to visit the dream of our lives “Machupichu” and your guide will take you to the most important places within the Inca city of Machupichu.
  • That will really bring it to life by detailing the history, meaning and myths of this sacred place of the Incas and you will enjoy the Historic Sanctuary in all its splendor.
  • At the end of the our tour, later we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes and then we will have our lunch.
  • Your Guide will coordinate the return time by Tren to Ollantaytambo then we will transfer you in our private bus or van back to your respective hotel Cusco.

Optional:

  • Huayna Picchu Mountain: Mountain that is next to Machu Picchu. It is a 45 minute hike to the top. This hike offers unparalleled views of the famous Inca sanctuary and also panoramic views of the surrounding mountainous landscape.

This activity can be done after your tour in Machu Picchu. The cost is $ 35 per person to walk. Arrangements must be made at least a month in advance, due to popularity.

  • Difficulty: moderate to challenging.
  • Machu Picchu Mountain: it has the most spectacular view, it is a 1.5 hour walk to the top. Located southwest of the Machu Picchu citadel with a height of 3,050 m (10,007 ft), this hike offers unparalleled views of the famous Inca sanctuary and also panoramic views of the surrounding mountainous landscape. The cost is $ 35 per person to walk.
